Boston-Edison Neighborhood Maps and Directions

The Boston Edison historic district encompasses four streets: Boston, Chicago, Longfellow, and Edison, spanning from Woodward to Linwood. It is located in the geographic heart of Detroit, with easy access to the New Center, Wayne State University, downtown Detroit, and the northern suburbs.

Directions to the Neighborhood

From Downtown: Take Woodward Avenue north, past I-94 and approximately 1.5 miles to Chicago Boulevard/ Arden Park. Turn left on Chicago, and you're in the neighborhood.

From the Northwest: Take the Lodge freeway (M-10) south past the Davison Freeway. Travel 1 mile past the Davison and exit onto Chicago (exit 5C), and you're in the neighborhood.

From the North: Take I-75 south to the Davison freeway (M-8). Exit onto the Davison west. Travel 1 mile and exit onto the Lodge freeway (M-10) south; this is a left-hand exit. Travel 1 mile and exit onto Chicago (exit 5C), and you're in the neighborhood.

From the South:Take I-75 north to the Lodge freeway (M-10). Exit onto the Lodge north. Travel 3 miles and exit onto Chicago/Hamilton (exit 5C), and you're in the neighborhood.

From the East/ Northeast: Take I-94 west to the Lodge freeway (M-10). Exit onto the Lodge north. Travel 1.5 miles and exit onto Chicago/Hamilton (exit 5C), and you're in the neighborhood.

From the West: Take I-94 east to the Lodge freeway (M-10). Exit onto the Lodge north; this is a left-hand exit. Travel 1.5 miles and exit onto Chicago/Hamilton (exit 5C), and you're in the neighborhood.
