In Detroit, bulk trash is picked up every three months, so it's important to remember trash pickup dates. However, the schedule for trash pickup schedule varies from quarter to quarter and is different throughout the neighborhood.
Yard waste is picked up on the same day as weekly trash collection from April through the first week of December (Christmas trees will be picked up during the first two weeks of January). Put yard waste in paper pags, or bundle larger sticks together.
Bulk trash can also be dropped off at the Davison Yard, located at 8221 West Davison (at I-96). The yard is open Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 4:00 from November through March, and Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 7:30 from April - October.
