More information on this concert series is on our "Sounds of Music" Concert Series page.

With a sultry voice that captivates from the first note, Julianne Ankley is a dynamic singer-songwriter paving her own musical road with honest, heartfelt, beautiful tunes that resonate with the listener. Her commitment to social causes, particularly the plight of the homeless, are a hallmark of her musical integrity. Having grown up on a cattle farm and riding horses in the rural "thumb" area of Michigan, Ankley has lived the simple "of the land" life. She is a true American farmer's daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter who loves to perform, sing and write songs and who has names like Tubbs, Babcock and Tremble in the family. It's no wonder country music is in her blood. Julianne has an impressive résumé of honors. Locally she has won two Detroit Music Awards in the Country Categories, including winning in 2012 for her CD release "Vivid". She also was one of the top three contestants in Nashville's Chris Austin Songwriting Contest. HomeAid of America, which builds houses for the homeless, selected her video and song "No Place for A Lullaby" to represent their company nationwide. We are honored to welcome Julianne to our "Sounds of Music" series! Light dinner fare and non-alcoholic drinks will be served.
